Mr Peter Loughenbury

MB ChB MSc PG Cert (Med Ed) FRCS (Tr & Orth)

Peter is a fellowship trained consultant orthopaedic spinal surgeon who offers treatment for a full range of spinal conditions. His entire practice is focused on spinal surgery and he performs over 300 spinal operations each year.

He studied medicine at the the University of Leeds and completed both basic and higher surgical training in trauma and orthopaedics in the Yorkshire Deanery. He then gained specialist training in complex spinal surgery in the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine as the UK National Spine Fellow at Leeds General Infirmary - a combined neurosurgical and orthopaedic fellowship. He built on this experience with fellowship posts at the Scottish National Spinal Deformity Service at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh, and as an AO Spine Fellow at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Australia.

Catherine Page

Catherine is a clinical Practice Manager and manages Mr Loughenbury’s practice at Leeds Nuffield and Spire Leeds Hospitals.

She recently switched to Healthcare after 26 years working for the BT Group. She started her career at BT working in customer services and moved into telemarketing and service development. During this time she worked in India for six years bringing on board Indian call centres for the company. She is qualified in process improvement including Six Sigma and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL). She has worked directly with numerous companies including Ford, Astra Zeneca, Halifax and BA. She is originally from Bolton and is the mother of three children. She started working at Spire Leeds Hospital when she moved to Leeds and then moved in practice management two years ago.

Catherine is focused on delivering a high quality customer experience and is passionate about this . She enjoys interacting with patients and keeps patient care at the forefront of everything she does.

Tom Bindloss

BSc MSc MCSP

Tom owns and runs Physio North, a private physiotherapy practice specialising in spinal care, sports injuries and personal training. Physio North prides itself on combining an in-depth personal assessment of your problem with the very best evidence-based treatments to give a lasting recovery.

Tom has extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of spinal pathologies, including provision of pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation. His NHS role sees him split between a Clinical Specialist spinal role and an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner post. Tom is a HCPC and CSP registered physiotherapist and a qualified personal trainer. He graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2006 and has worked consistently in both the NHS and private practice ever since. He completed his MSc in Musculoskeletal Practice at the University of Bradford in 2016. He has also worked as team physio for Leeds Akkies RL, Leodensian RUFC and Yorkshire RFU. Away from his busy work schedule, Tom is a keen sportsman, DIY enthusiast and family man.

Lindsey Burrow

BSc (Hons) PGDip Manual Therapy MCSP HCPC

Lindsey is an experienced Physiotherapist with a specialist interest in spinal conditions.  She graduated from The University of Manchester in 2004 and began working at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.  She has over 15 years varied clinical experience and extensive post-graduate training.  Lindsey completed her post-graduate diploma in Manual Therapy in 2012 and became an accredited member of the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapist (MACP).

In her current role, as a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist, Lindsey works alongside both Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeons and Neurosurgeons.

As well as her NHS work, Lindsey runs a private Physiotherapy clinic based at Pontefract Squash and Leisure Club.

Liz Atha

MSc Grad Dip Pays MMACP

Chartered physiotherapist Liz Atha runs the specialist dance, sport and spinal clinic based within the new home of Northern Ballet in Leeds city centre.  Liz Atha is a specialist spinal physiotherapist with MMACP Specialist spinal qualification.  She has been involved with the treatment of spinal problems for the past 12 years.

Liz graduated from Guys Hospital School of Physiotherapy in 1990, initially working at Pinderfields and then Leeds Teaching Hospitals.  She Joined the York District hospital as an extended scope practitioner for musculoskeletal services in 2002 before moving into private practice. Alongside her private work, Liz has been involved in work with elite footballers and teaching. She undertook a masters in manual therapy and MMACP in 2002, which led her to become more specialised in the spinal field. In the past few years she has developed an increase in knowledge in the management of Scoliosis and is now developing this service within her clinic.
